Around 1999, putting periods in phone no’s became a fad (everyone wanted to look like they were in the digital age.) I did it too until it was no longer cool.
Unfortunately, some people are just now catching onto the fad. Here are a couple of reasons not to do this: 1) The phone number is harder to read; 2) These types of numbers are internet addresses. I actually have to type such numbers into my browser occasionally to access certain sites. Below is a spammer, so I don’t mind showing their computer address. I’ve seen tech companies still doing this, but it falls in line with what they do, I guess.
